Here we are. At a place that was created to remind us of the Old World in the middle of a city that has as much diversity as any European metropolis. We are a café with a neighborhood feel in the vibrant downtown business district of Oakland.

Here you will enjoy a cup of legendary coffee and food as comforting as that you’d expect from your grandmother’s kitchen. Caffe 817 is a place where we come to gather, visit, discuss, and laugh. And eat! We’re open for breakfast and lunch throughout the week, and brunch on Saturdays.

The changing seasons shape our menus and provide inspiration. We also understand that food is made by people and for people. Therefore, we proudly support local and sustainable farmers, ranchers, and artisans.
