The Pink Adobe was established in 1944 by Rosalea Murphy. Known affectionately by locals as "The Pink," the restaurant has grown into a local and national landmark since its humble beginnings serving Dobe Burgers, French onion soup, and hot apple pie.

The Pink is located in the center of the historic Barrio de Analco across the street from the San Miguel Mission, which is considered the oldest church in the United States. The restaurant was given its name by Rosalea because of the rose color of the historic, 300 year-old house that is home to the Pink.

Neighborhoods are better served when there are places where neighbors, families and friends can casually gather over a cup of coffee, a good meal or a glass of wine. That’s where Starling comes in.

Created by and staffed by people who love and live in Long Beach, we’ve come together because it is important to us that neighborhood joints exist and thrive. A place to think, have a bite to eat and a table to spread out the Sunday paper is- in our minds- a necessity for the pursuit of happiness.

Our goal is to be the best neighborhood restaurant in Oakland. Our menu inspiration comes from the brasseries of France and Belgium. In fact, we've taken to calling our style of cuisine "California Brasserie," which basically means that we've taken traditional French & Belgian brasserie dishes such as oysters, mussels, frites , sausages and cured meats, and put them together in a way that reflects the culinary sensibilities of the Bay Area.

Our award winning cuisine is prepared with the freshest seafood of Spain and South Florida. We also offer fowl, poultry and USDA Prime Beef. Our extensive wine cellars offer over 450 aged and vintage wines and has the rarest collections of Spanish wines in the United States.
