Numerous trips to Vietnam cultivated the idea of combining the unique dishes of Vietnamese cuisine with the lush and fresh ingredients of Hawaii. We were curious to find out if we could combine the effortless beauty of Vietnamese food with the refinement of western methods and presentations.

We opened in 1983 from the ground up, and everyone knows us as the restaurant with the green roof on red stilts. The style of Tea service at the Vintage Tea Leaf is an eclectic affair, directly influenced by our founder’s upbringing, extensive travels in Europe, eight years’ residency in Canada, and her English, Irish, and German heritage. Although the Tea Mistress enjoys the historical traditions of tea, she delights in creating and presenting, in festive ways, foods that create comfort, and that complement her first priority — the sipping of quality tea.
