Back in 1912, the late Elmer "Doc" Dyer opened his own cafe and began to develop a secret cooking process for the uniquely delicious world famous burgers we still serve here today on Beale Street.

Legend has it that the "secret" was Doc Dyer's ageless cooking grease. This famous grease , strained daily, has continued to produce our juicy Dyer's Burgers for almost a century now.

One of "Doc's" original employees, Mr. Kahn Aaron bought the establishment in 1935 and continued the Dyer's name and tradition of famous burgers.

LBS has a unique, warm and inviting room which is a throwback to days past, while also intertwining that of today. People of all ages can easily enjoy the space with few or many. Dutch’s Hamburgers, a good ol’ neighborhood joint, opened in the spring of 2007. The burger-and-beer café sits in a historic building next to the longtime TCU Theater, in the former Jon’s Grille space, facing the main Texas Christian University campus.

The name Dutch’s was chosen to combine plenty of Fort Worth and TCU heritage for the new college café; The restaurant namesake is Leo “Dutch” Meyer, a TCU grad who became the most successful football coach in Horned Frog history.
