With over 35 years in the meat business, Roger and I decided to open Midwestern Meats. In 1990, we opened our original 1,200 square foot shop. In the spirit of great food, we decided to open Midwestern Bakery in 1996. Midwestern Restaurant opened in 1999 and features no-nonsense, comfort cooking including our select meats, simple side dishes and the finest desserts from our bakery. Our restaurant is open 7 days a week, features weekly specials and a Sunday "breakflunch", a hearty, homemade approach to brunch!
Roger and I have spent many late nights cleaning the shop, doing bookkeeping and all of the numerous other tasks of a small business owner. Although we now have a wonderful group of employees to rely on, we still have our hearts in it. This is why remaining family owned and operated is so important to us. If you visit any of our shop, bakery or restaurant, you are bound to run into our son Rod, who's our General Manager and now runs the company for us.
