Phnom Penh House was first opened in 1986, when our family was given political asylum after surviving the Khmer Rouge torment in Cambodia. Seeking a fulfilling life and a promising start in our new country, all members of our family put what we had together and opened a Cambodian restaurant in Oakland Chinatown.
We encourage you to try authentic Cambodian food. We are sure you will enjoy our dishes loaded with exotic spices and herbs. We are proud of being able to bring a bit of our culture to you, and hope that you will return for more. (from http://www.phnompenhhouse.com)
