Side Street Restaurant and Catering Service is located in the Oakwood Historical District of Raleigh, just one block south of the State Capital complex. We offer delicious daily specials for soup, quiche, entrées and dessert.

The Vallejos Family opened (“Vallejo’s Deli”) in August of 1983. It started on the bottom floor of an old Grocery store that had gone out of business. The front page of our menu has the image of that old building where the “Deli” began. They started the Deli with their own Mamacita’s recipes. Recipes gathered over many years, from all the different regions of old Mexico. Over the years new menu items and new recipes have been added to that original Menu.

Ciao features classic Italian favorites like Veal Piccata, Chicken Marsala, hand made pizzas or a variety of authentic home-made regional pastas, fresh seafood, perfectly grilled steaks, handmade desserts, and artisanal bread baked fresh every day. You can also savor original recipes like the Handmade Lobster Raviolis in a Lemon Cream Sauce or Warm Balsamic Strawberries topped with a sweet Mascarpone Cream.

We opened our doors in 1974, my dad had one thing in mind: to serve great steaks and drinks to his friends and family. For 39 years we have stayed true to his vision. We have added some things along the way: wild game, homemade New Mexican food and a great selection of tequila , however one thing hasn’t changed- the steaks are still fantastic!
