Mellow Yellow has been a Hyde Park fixture since its opening in 1976. Ken Pelletier, owner of this vintage eatery, dreamed of capturing the style of Yellow Fingers Restaurant in New York City. His daughters wrote a letter to singer/songwriter Donovan with the request to use the song title Mellow Yellow for the name of the restaurant, to which he agreed, at no charge. The restaurant was opened with a simple, but popular menu of only crêpes.

Villa Francesca is located at the corner of Caldwell and Seventh streets in the First Ward in Uptown Charlotte. The restaurant, which opened in August 2008, is like an extension of the owner’s, Louie and Marguerite Suppa, family home where customers are treated like guests. “We want families to come here, feel at home and have a nice, relaxing meal,” says Louie. “Great food, great service…food made with love.”
