Tango's Empanadas - Boise, ID

Tango’s Empanadas opened in October 2006. Since then we have had the pleasure of introducing empanadas from Argentina to Idaho.

Empanadas are as old as time probably, known throughout the world with different names, doughs and fillings. It was the way for the men who went to mines, farms, etc. to have a meal inside a closed “sandwich”. Calzones and Panzarottis in Italy, Piroshkis in the Soviet Union, Pierogies in Poland, Pastelillos in the Caribbean, Lahmajoon in Armenia, Pasties in England, Booregs in Saudi Arabia. They are a pastry filled dough, half moon shaped with beef, veggies or sweets. They can be baked or fried. (from http://www.tangos-empanadas.com)
