A Nashville tradition began in 1961 when my father, Robert Baldwin, opened The Pancake Pantry. The idea was o build a reputation and menu around a variety of uncommonly good pancakes. Equally important was his desire to develop a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere which would keep customers coming back time and again.

In 1978, I became partners with my Dad and eventually bought the restaurant from him in 1988. (from http://www.thepancakepantry.com)

Lonnie's Best Taste of Chicago - Louisville, KY

* Saturday 11:00am - 6:00pm
* Closed Sundays

When Lonnie and Diane opened their Chicago style eatery in Louisville, they had to change the culture of eating here. In Chicago, the hot dog is 'walking it through the garden.' All the things you might grow in your own garden, cucumber, tomato, relish, onion, peppers, celery salt, are put on the hot dog. Louisville wasn't used to eating cucumbers on a hot dog. Lonnie would often have to offer to "buy it back" if the customer didn't like it, just to get them to try something different. Lonnie hasn't bought one back yet.
