The Red Iguana restaurant opened its doors in 1985 to resounding applause and numerous local and national awards. The Cardenas family has had the pleasure of serving its dedicated patrons in the Salt Lake Valley since 1965 with the Casa Grande and Red Iguana restaurants.

Ramon and Maria created unique yet traditional Mexican recipes, now passed on to the Cardenas children who are proudly continuing the family tradition.

Named after the royal palace in Bangkok, Jitlada opened in the late ’70s and quickly earned an enthusiastic following among food lovers both Thai and otherwise.

In 2006, Sarintip “Jazz” Singsanong and her brother Suthiporn “Tui” Sungkamee, acquired Jitladala. They left the old menu more or less intact while upgrading the quality of the cooking and also added a sub-menu of about 40 home-style southern Thai specialties.

Known as a Houston Institution, Ruggles’ popularity spans decades. The original structure was built in the 1920’s as a residence in historical Montrose. The Westheimer area slowly began to evolve in the 1960’s from strict residential neighborhoods to ones interspersed with local businesses. The inspiration for the original Ruggles came from restaurateur Manfred Jachmich in the 1970’s. With his wife he redesigned the building and established Ruggles and then Ruggles Seafood. The kitchen was redesigned when Bruce Molzan became the sole proprietor.
