This is the real deal. Chef Kevin Ho, who worked for 20 years as a cook in Guangzhou, China, and Los Angeles, opened JJ Chinese in December 2002. The small, hard-to-find restaurant is patronized by Chinese-and, increasingly, non-Chinese-customers who hanker for authentic Cantonese cooking. Seafood is Ho’s specialty, so take him up on it. Amedeo ‘Dick’ DeAngelis came to NCSU from the family home in Reading, PA in 1954 on a football scholarship. He missed home cooking and got the idea of opening a small restaurant featuring some of his mother’s and grandmother’s homemade Italian recipes.
We have never been satisfied with just the basic items. Instead, we have served a variety of menu items. We cook every meal to order. We take pride in our satisfying, quick breakfast menu, a meal which has always been at a premium for people on the run. Our dinner menu offers you the flexibility of a fine dining experience, with choices of soup or salad and choice of baked or mashed potatoes, fries or rice at a much lower price.
